Now that Fall planting season is here, The board would like to take this opportunity to clarify the responsibilities of the unit owners.
Rule 6.14 Unit Owners plantings shall not exceed an area of 4 feet from the foundation without the approval from the Executive Board. If the plantings around the unit exceed 4 feet, the unit owner is responsible for the care of the total area as described below. If the unit owner wishes to extend this area, they must get approval from the board. If the unit owner purchased a unit with extended areas surrounding their unit, they inherited the responsibility of those areas. Common areas are the responsibility of the board and should not be changed without the approval of the board. The board much appreciates the work of individuals that help maintain the plantings in the common areas. Rule 7.3 Shrubbery, bushes and other plant life shall not be disturbed, planted or removed without written approval from the Executive Board. The owner may choose to prune the shrubbery about their unit if they wish. All weeding and care of annuals and perennials surrounding the unit are the responsibility of the unit owner. All tools and gardening equipment must be stored where it cannot be seen after each use. Please feel free to express concerns to Jane Harris and or Elaine Strong so that they may present them to the board.
