The Meadow Hill Executive Board has approved a “Document Overlay” for Meadow Hill, more fully titled: “Meadow Hill, Document Overlay – An Outline of the Impact of the 2009 Amendments to the Common Interest Ownership Act“ <read the Document Overlay>
- The 2009 Amendments to the Common Interest Ownership Act (CIOA) governs how condominiums must operate in Connecticut.
- The Meadow Hill Declarations, Bylaws, and Rules govern how Meadow Hill, Inc. and unit owners operate and cooperate.
- When there is a conflict between Meadow Hill documents and state law, including the CIOA, then the state law applies.
- Given the sweeping nature of the 2009 CIOA Amendments, items in the Meadow Hill documents do not apply, and new laws do apply.
Based on advice from our Attorney, the Executive Board requested they provide a Document Overlay which explains to the best of our Attorney’s understanding the changes in our documents which apply based on the 2009 Amendments.
So, to determine how to operate and cooperate the first document to read is the Document Overlay, then the Meadow Hill Declarations, ByLaws, and Rules.
