From the Board of Directors

President’s Remarks

1) Progress requires participation. This June Meadow Hill will have four Board positions up for election. I hope all of those will be filled with current board members, first-time board members, or returning board members. As usual we have ambitious goals for the year. Progress requires time and talent. If you like how things are going, your help is needed. If you want more, less, or different things pursued, you should consider running for the Executive Board in June. If you are interested I would welcome the opportunity to talk to you.

2) One of those goals for 2015 proposed by the Finance Committee is that we complete paving of half the remaining sidewalks. Toward that end, I intend to appoint a Sidewalk Paving Committee. If you are interested in participating on such a Committee or would consider chairing it, please let me know by February 10th to get anything done well this year, in my estimation, will require intense effort from February through April.

3) Finally, a heads-up. As enacted over the last couple of years, maintenance and safety standards, require that all replaceable-battery smoke detectors be replaced by 10-year sealed-battery smoke detectors in early 2015. Soon the maintenance staff will be inspecting and replacing those smoke detectors at owners’ expense (at volume discount cost to Meadow Hill. The cost will be about $50 per detector).
