Heat Tape
If heat tape has been installed at your unit, it is important to turn it on when snow is forecasted. Please turn heat tape on when snow is forecasted. If snow is forecasted overnight, the heat tape may be turned on before you go to bed. The heat tape should remain on throughout the snow storm and afterwards until bare roof is visible. Once bare roof is visible, you may turn off the heat tape. Using the heat tape in this manner will greatly reduce the problem of ice accumulation on the roof and stoop at your unit.
